As the February half-term holidays approach, it's time to plan some fun-filled days out with the family - and there's certainly no shortage of places to go right here in Leicestershire.
From farms and parks to museums and even a maize maze, you have so many options when it comes to activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Here is a little inspiration for some of our favorite Leicestershire attractions to visit, which will hopefully give you some inspiration for great days out this February.
Abbey Pumping Station, Leicester
Beam engines, a narrow gauge railway and a toilet where the journey of an object can be followed from flush to drain. Most children and families are fascinated by Abbey Pumping station!
This is Leicester's Museum of Science and Technology, displaying Leicester's industrial, technological and scientific heritage.
There is often a chance to take a ride on the museum's narrow gauge railway at special events.
Entry is free, except when there's a special event. It's open 11 am - 4.30 pm daily from February to October, except for special event days when opening times may vary.
Bradgate Park and Swithland Woods, Newtown Linford
When you visit Bradgate Park there is no wonder it is so popular, with 830 acres of wild and beautiful countryside, populated by hundreds of resident deer. There are dramatic rocky outcrops and gnarled old oak trees, many of which are well over 500 years old.
There’s also the historic ruins of Bradgate House – home of nine-day queen Lady Jane Grey – and the landmark Old John’s Tower.
You can opt for a hike up the hills and enjoy the stunning views, or take it easy and stick to the driveway running through the lower part of the park, close to the shallow waters of the River Lin.
Just moments north of Bradgate Park is Swithland Woods, a 155-acre ancient woodland, which is a great place for playing hide and seek behind the plethora of trees.

Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, Sutton Cheney
This Heritage Centre tells the story of the Battle of Bosworth, which happened on August 22 1485, and marked a major turning point in English history.
Visitors can discover more about the Battle of 1485, where Richard III fought for his crown and lost his life, and Henry Tudor became King.
With interactive, hands-on displays and a range of activities, including guided walks, you can find out about medieval warfare, how the battle unfolded and the impact of the new and powerful Tudor dynasty.
The heritage center is open 10 am - 5 pm. Tickets: £8.95 adult, £8.00 concession, child (3-15) £5.75, family 2+3 £28.00.
Bosworth Water Park, Market Bosworth
There are lots to do at the water park - including visiting the Blue Lagoon.
Children are sure to have fun on the pirate adventure playground, as they board The Black Pearl, and there's a 12-hole nautical-themed crazy golf course.
Crazy golf is just £3 per person, you could get the family on the water in a pedalo, which cost £15 for half an hour.
There is a variety of rowing boats and Canadian canoes if you are feeling energetic. Prices are per vehicle (up to five occupants) and vary slightly depending on the time of year you visit.
Between June 1 and September 2, you'll pay £2.50 per hour midweek, £3 per hour at weekends and bank holidays.
Bosworth Water Park is open seven days a week, from 9 am until 7 pm.
Congo River Adventure Golf, Blaby Golf Centre
Experience tranquil waterfalls, mysterious caves, tropical rainforests and challenging golf holes at this course at Blaby Golf Centre.
The newly refurbished 18-hole course now features new obstacles and new life-sized animals - which are sure to provide lots of fun for visitors of all ages.
New tropical sounds playing over the centre can add to the immersive jungle experience awaiting visitors, you can expect to hear birds, monkeys, and lions.
The golf centre is open seven days a week, with opening hours varying according to the time of year.
The cost to play the Congo River Adventure Golf course is £5 per person.
