The Western Park Beer Festival is Leicester’s very own way of gathering the people of Western Park and the areas surrounding it to come together and enjoy a variety of local beer and local fine foods! It will be held on 6th and 7th of September, 2019 at the St Anne’s Church and Community Hall, Letchworth Road, Western Park.
Their aim is to raise money for local good causes. What’s a better way than celebrating and helping for a good cause simultaneously? At the Western Beer Festival, you’ll find three sessions of namely; real ales, craft kegs, prosecco, gin and lots of delicious cocktails!
They’ve also included a special family session on Saturday afternoon and fun activities for the kids. This year, the organisation will be raising money for Leicester Home-Start Horizons to train new volunteers so that they can reach more families in Leicester.
Coram Adoption East Midlands will be raising to run a two-night family camp for upto nine East Midlands families and Leicester Wheels for All will provide battery-powered bikes for people of all mobilities.
A fun fact about the Western Park is that a ceremonial oak was planted at the opening of the 178 acres of Western Park on Thursday, July 13, 1899. As it coincided with Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, the Mayor also planted a Californian fir.
This marks the heritage value of the park and how raising money for a good cause would be absolutely lovely in a setting such as this. People of Leicester and visitors from around the country come together and have a weekend full of laughter, delicious food and sparkling drinks at Western Park Beer Festival in Leicester!
